Over It All: Insecurities
Insecurities, we all have them but as humans, we try not to focus on the negative aspects of our bodies. Well, at least we try not to emphasize it. As bloggers, we already know that we will run across rude and distasteful comments from the public from time to time. After all, we're always being judged, watched and ridiculed for how we look, what we wear and what others assume of us. I understand the consequences of being a blogger, however it fathoms me that people will follow others on social media just to criticize. Why would you waste your time on someone you dislike?
I've had my fair share, actually I've endured years of emotional bullying from elementary school into the first couple of years of high school. I remember running to the car right when class was dismissed so that I could avoid getting confronted by a handful of girls that hated me. I never understood what it was about me that ticked them off, but they loved insulting me in the hallways, in class and at lunch. I even had male bullies!
"But look at you now" my friends tell me. I may not have people physically in my face anymore but as a fashion blogger your image is your brand and not everyone will like you. I think the hardest part about being a blogger (IMO) is learning to ignore the negativity and not let the opinions of others affect you. Having thick skin isn't an asset I was born with but I am trying. I really commend all the bloggers out there who don't give a sh*t (insert applause emoji here).
