Kimpton La Peer Hotel
Step into a place that combines style and grace with local LA art, for a feel good vibe.
If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that the Kimpton is one of my favorite hospitality brands and one that I cannot get enough of. In fact, La Peer is one of the 2018 Conde Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Award and a top hotel on Trip Advisor. After my two-night stay at this luxe property, I can certainly see why it’s a favorite amongst the community.
La Peer is said to be the most luxurious of all the Kimpton hotels in the LA area, and after staying at the Everly earlier in the year, I was quite curious to compare the two. I loved the Everly and their design is still one of my favorites around town, however the moment you step into La Peer, you can see the immediate difference.
Since they are located in West Hollywood’s Design District, La Peer blends fine details with local art to provide a vibe that is certainly unique to them. You can also spot Retna’s artwork in their patio area, along with a handful of creative pieces scattered through the library from local LA artists.
We had the pleasure of staying in the signature king room, which included a bath tub. Only these rooms have a bath tub and if you’re looking to relax the right way, spend the extra money for the tub. You will not regret it.
In addition, La Peer offers one-of-a-kind bath rituals of your choice (called the Butler Bubble Bath Service). I decided to indulge during our stay and opted for the exotic Jasmine bathing ritual, which was amazing. Normally, the bath is drawn by a staff member and can take about 30-minutes to set up. But because we wanted to capture the entire process on camera, we asked to do it ourselves and you can see the end result here.
I have to admit that while it sounds like the simplest thing to do, taking a bath that is, it was something I really needed after our 20 hour flight from Bali.
Add that on top of the fact that the room was such an oasis for us, as we were tucked away in the corner of our floor and no one ever bothered us. The bed was comfortable, the work space was cozy, and the ambiance was perfect.
So was La Peer the best Kimpton hotel we’ve ever stayed at?
I’m not going to choose favorites because I love them all, but it is in the top 3 of our preferred places to stay!
From the inspiring interior decor to the bath ritual, to the spacious room options, and great location, La Peer really does have its perks!
Cannot wait to return and enjoy it again.
