Exploring Park City with Utopian Luxury Vacation Homes

Winter in Los Angeles typically consists of 70 to 80-degree temperatures in the daytime, a handful of rainy days where people all of sudden forget how to drive, and occasional low 60’s, when everyone complains that it’s freezing on Facebook. Fortunately, this “cold front” occurred while I was in Park City, Utah, where it was snowing and about 4-degrees, but was one of the best experiences I ever had.

I must admit that I had no desire to visit Utah prior to this trip, mainly because I’m not a snowboarder or skier, but there’s much more to do in Park City aside from this. If you’re thinking about a getaway for you and your girlfriends, family, or even you and your boo, keep on reading because Utah is where you need to go!

Let’s start with where to stay and why investing in a comfortable, luxurious mountainside home should be an option. Hidden up in the hills, behind a gated community known as The Colony, was where our hi-tech 6-bedroom, 8-bath home was. Provided by Utopian Luxury Vacation Homes, our Alpine Sanctuary with ski-in/ski-out access at Park City Mountain Resort in White Pine Canyon can accommodate a total of 22 guests. With a total of just 6 of us for the 3-nights, you can imagine how much space we had. Each bedroom suite was decorated in warm tones and had a view of the mountains, in addition to the spectacular and unobstructed views from the deck. Heated floors, driveway, pool, and hot tub are additional features that should be noted. As well as the gourmet kitchen, complete with everything you ever needed – and yes, there is Wi-Fi.

If you are unfamiliar with Utopian Luxury Vacation Homes, they provide fine luxury rentals all over the U.S., including Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, Palm Springs, Austin, Aspen and more. They have a private concierge team who assists and handles all details of your reservations and is available throughout your stay to ensure you have nothing to worry about. Shout out to Junior for taking care of us throughout our stay, despite the 10,000 questions we kept asking (hah).

Now that we have the stay situated, let’s talk things to do!

In addition to booking your accommodation, Utopian’s concierge services can recommend activities and book those for you, as well as restaurant reservations. Through Junior, we scheduled an afternoon snowmobiling, a morning snowshoeing, and had two nights of in-home private chef experiences. Also, grocery delivery services and transportation were taken care of. Basically, all you have to do is say yes or no, and just sit back and enjoy.

1.     Snowmobiling

Red Pine Adventures is located just a couple miles from the house and offers an array of activities from snowmobiling to horseback riding. Suits are provided but having your own pair of ski pants are highly recommend to stay warm.

The tour is about an hour or so and starts with a car ride up the hills. From there, you are trained and situated with your vehicle, then guided to an open area where you can let loose. We did laps and went down a pretty steep hill, which was a huge adreline rush. Ending the tour with a beautiful trail through the trees. Be weary of the weight of the mobile with your turns, as I plowed into a thick side of snow and got my vehicle stuck (lol). Oops!

2.     Snowshoeing

Unlike snowmobiling, this will make you sweat and you will get a workout, but the view is worth it.

Snowshoeing doesn't pop up in most people's heads when it comes to snow activities, but this one certainly surprised me. To be honest, the thought of hiking in the snow was not my cup of tea. However, after completing it, I admit that I enjoyed it.

No gear of your own is necessary, as the tour will provide it for you so all you need to do is just show up and be ready to hike.

3.     In-Home Private Chef Experiences

Utopian arranged for in-home private chef experiences, which was perfect because who wants to travel out into the cold at night right?

We had amazing meals featuring a variety of dishes, catered to our taste buds and allergies were taken into consideration. The chefs even clean the dishes and take out the trash for you, which was so nice!

Now I'm trying to figure out how much I need to make to get my own private chef.

4.     In-Home Massage Services

After all the activities you've done, the best way to unwind and relax is with a massage. I'm a huge fan of massages and try to get one at least once a month, but it's been awhile so I was overdue and so appreciative of this arrangement by Utopian.

Utopian only works and hires the very best in service and their massage therapists did not disappoint. I was so relaxed afterward that I wanted to take a nap.

5.     In-Home Yoga Session

To add to the relaxation, we were scheduled for a late afternoon session of yoga. I'm not a huge fan of yoga, to be honest, but the instructor adjusted to our own skill level and preferences which was nice.

6.     Karaoke Cab

On the way to dinner on our last night in town, we were picked up by the Karaoke Cab. There's nothing better than singing along to your favorite 90's tunes while going to dinner.

We also took the Karaoke Cab back on the way home and after a few drinks, it's definitely better than going to the club. Oh and mic and song selection list included.

7.     The Mustang

Our last meal was at The Mustang in downtown Park City and is well-known for their quality of food. The restaurant has hosted numerous celebrities and has the signatures on their wall to prove it.

Below is an iPhone shot so excuse the quality, however, it's an example of one of the many delicious dishes we had that night. We were so overwhelmed with the flavors and were caught up in enjoying the present, that we totally forgot to snap photos. But trust me when I say that this place is good and worth the visit!

While the start of this trip involved 4 strangers from 4 different cities, it ended with 4 friends who now share an epic trip to Utah filled with tons of memories. Shout out to my girls: Blake, Ashley, and Rebecca.

Thank you Utopian for having us!
