Oceana Santa Monica
I almost don’t want to share this hotel because it has such a great low-key vibe, that I don’t want people rushing at it and crowding it, hah.
But it would a total disservice if I didn’t tell you about Oceana in Santa Monica, so here we go..
Just steps from the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica’s most coveted neighborhood, the newly transformed Oceana embodies a whole new level of luxury. Here, urban sophistication and best-in-class service unite with the intimate allure of a private beach home, creating a singular destination for exploring the best of the Southern California lifestyle.
If you’re familiar with the Bungalow, drive a few minutes past it and you’ll find yourself at Oceana. You won’t find any loud parties or obnoxious drunks here. Nope, this luxurious boutique hotel is suited for those who really want to get away from the craziness of Santa Monica and are seeking a relaxing stay.
Offering 70 suites to choose from, each with aesthetically pleasing interior and the most comfortable beds, and fortunately for us, we had a suite facing the ocean. Ocean views from your hotel room is seriously all I ever want during a stay. However, that’s not the only perk of Oceana.
The ocean view suite we had also included a full living room, king-size bed, 850 sq. ft of space that we truly enjoyed, and in-room iPad. Everything is within your reach, although I will have to admit that I wish the outlets were closer to the tables or chairs so I could work a little more comfortably. Aside from that minor detail, everything else about the room was perfect.

Now, the service itself is worth mentioning. I never waited long for someone to pick up the line and the staff was super sweet and helpful. I called down to ask for 4 x AAA batteries because KSOLE forgot his, and we needed them for the remote to shoot a stop-motion. It honestly was a long shot that the hotel would have it, but the staff went to find some for us. Within 15 minutes, they delivered us batteries right to our front door. Talk about going above and beyond.
In addition, all room service orders were fairly quick and valet was also quick in retrieving our car whenever we needed it. The only time things felt a little slow was when we were dining at the restaurant. It wasn’t very crowded but I guess everyone was calling for room service. Aside from that, the staff is overall very attentive.
As for activities, there is a pool where you can lounge around all-day, a fitness room, and a spa. I didn’t have time to enjoy any of these, as we stayed Sunday to Tuesday and Monday’s are busy for me so I was chained to my laptop all day. However, I do plan on utilizing the spa on the next visit.
